Practice for
body-oriented therapy.
Welcome
Everyone experiences pain, tension or fatigue from time to time. Regular complaints can be very annoying. Especially if it is unclear where they come from.
In body-oriented therapy we use the wisdom of your body and the power of touch to explore the underlying meaning of your complaint. This gives you the opportunity to gain a different perspective on yourself and the issue you wish to explore. Through conversation and massage, you discover the subtle signals your body is giving you and learn to recognise and understand them. The insights that emerge will help you to feel your own boundaries and be clear about what you need, making it easier to make choices that suit you.
Each therapy session is tailored to your unique needs and experiences. In doing so, I may use various treatment methods, such as;
Shiatsu – Energy and Balance
Shiatsu is a type of massage therapy that uses pressure on specific points to enhance the flow of energy throughout the body. It encourages self-healing, helping to restore balance to both your body and mind, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and relaxed.
Rebalancing – bodywork to get to know yourself better
Rebalancing uses the power of touch to help you make a deeper connection with yourself. It helps you to reconnect with your feelings and your body. And a lot can change when you become more aware of what is going on inside you.
Somatic Experiencing – healing trauma through the body
If an experience has been too fast, too unexpected and too overwhelming for you, it can get stuck in your body. You get stuck in a fight, flight or freeze response. This can manifest as chronic stress, alertness, irritability, etc. The aim is to support the nervous system in self-regulation, by safely and gradually discharging the survival energy that has taken hold in your body.
NARM – Neuro-Affective Relationship Model
If there was insufficient support and safety in your childhood, this can have a lot of impact on how you are in life now. This method works with the way we experience ourselves and others in relationships, helping you to break unconscious patterns that interfere with your emotional wellbeing.
