Practice for Body-oriented Therapy

Your body knows the way
to real contact and connection

In body-oriented therapy, the wisdom of your body is the key to a deeper connection with yourself and what motivates you. Perhaps you notice your shoulders tensing during certain conversations, or your breathing changing when you feel uncertain about something. These are signals your body is giving you.

When you make contact with your body, you learn more about how you’re doing. When you better sense how you’re doing, it also becomes easier to feel what’s good for you in contact with others.

A session consists of a combination of conversation, mindful self-exploration, and touch. Attuned touch supports the release of long-held tensions and stress patterns. At the same time, this strengthens your ability to listen to the subtle signals of your body.

This approach is particularly powerful in processing trauma. Because if experiences have been too overwhelming, they can become stored in the body as fight, flight, or freeze responses. This may manifest as chronic stress, hypervigilance, irritability, and more. Trauma can also arise when there was a lack of support and safety in childhood, which can deeply affect how you experience relationships and life today.

Body-oriented therapy offers a different way of looking at yourself, from a gentle and curious perspective. The insights that emerge will help you to sense your boundaries more clearly and gain insight into what you truly need. As a result, you can make choices with greater confidence that align with who you are.

Your intention forms the common thread that guides our work together. Depending on what you wish to get out of the therapeutic process, I combine various methods, including:

What can you expect?

You are central – your process and needs are the foundation. ✔ Relief from symptoms – support for physical and emotional complaints. ✔ More peace and connection – after overwhelming or impactful experiences. ✔ Recognition and experience of feelings – increased awareness of your state of being in the here and now. ✔ Enhanced body awareness – contributing to resilience and strength. ✔ Freer connection with yourself and others – discover new ways to relate to yourself and your surroundings.
